MOM
Hafizirad will feature her new MOM installation. MOM is a powerful Deaf View/Image Art (De’VIA) ceramic and multimedia installation that honors the right of women, and especially Deaf mothers to breastfeed in public and to use sign language - both are a natural part of our human existence and sustain life. Drawing from the rich landscape of Iranian Sign Language (ISL) dialects, the project features 62 ceramic breast forms displayed on a wall, with each glazed pair highlighting a distinct traditional Persian design motif from a different region.
